The Irish Sun Is Not Good For Your Skin!

Sun bathing is a popular summer activity for the residents and tourists visiting Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society has however raised its concerns, as the excruciating sun is not kind on Irish people, who have the highest rate of skin cancer in Europe.

It's a common norm among locals that goes, the Irish sun doesn't count, but the statistics reflect otherwise. Last summer it was observed that many people have conveniently ignored sun screen creams and sun protective gears, while stepping out in the summer heat and have faced severe sun burns and rashes.

Dermatologists and health experts believe that it is the popularity of sun bathing that has increased the rates of skin cancer in Ireland. Experts say that sun blocks are essential even at home if people are exposed to direct sunlight.

Skin specialists recommend that SPF 30 is good enough for adult skin, and sun creams covering the broad range of coverage for all types of UV- A and B rays should be preferred. However, people who are more vulnerable to skin rashes should not hesitate to re apply throughout day whenever needed.

It is important to be protected against the harmful ultraviolet radiations, and those of us who have more sensitive skin type may even choose kids' range of sun blocks and creams. Some products which especially fall within the kids' range are mild and even offer higher SPF of up to 50 and more, which people with sensitive and delicate skin should definitely opt for them.

The American Cancer Society has also revealed that the rate of melanoma has increased by 2.7 % over the last decade. The U.S. FDA has been reviewing the ingredients used to improve the sun blocking capacity in sunscreen creams and lotions for many years now. Among the improved ingredients that are found in the latest products includes mexoryl, and tinosorb, that are available in Europe. Health experts believe these components do not break down under sunlight and offer better protection against vast range of ultra violet A and B radiations.
