What smokers with mental health issues cost the UK per year
(July 10, 2014 - Insidermedicine) From the UK - A new report published in Tobacco Control finds that smokers who have mental health issues cost the UK over £2 billion a year. Researchers studied the avoidable costs of smoking among smokers with mental health issues, as well as the costs of cigarette smoking, direct and indirect health care costs and direct and indirect mortality costs. Results showed that these individuals cost the UK£2.5 billion a year, as well as nearly £ 800 million as a result of premature death.
